Prior to the formation of Benalty, Ty has held a number of positions of which include – owner operator of two businesses, management within several Shipbuilding operations. His Shipbuilding tenure has covered – Commercial ferries, work/crew boats, customs and military vessels and luxury motor yachts.

Ty has a field of experience extending from Shipbuilding construction of 16 years, manufacturing and Fabrication, and 12 years within the gas industry including work on commercial, industrial and domestic applications.

BUSINESS BACKGROUND
- Trade apprentice, (Fitter, Machinist; Coded Welder inclusive of offshore), Supervisory, Leadership and Lean management trainer, management, contractor & business owner.
- Gas Industry - 20 Years' experience total. Owner operator small business within the Gas Industry inclusive of manufacturing & supply of gas fired equipment, commercial, industrial, domestic & recreational.
- Manufacturing / Fabrication & sheet metal – 40 years' experience.
Shipbuilding Industry - Commercial ferries’, work/crew vessels, Customs vessels, Military, Luxury vessels; 16 years' experience.
